Christmas cards
Christmas Cards for CAMHS
We want to send a homemade Christmas Card to EVERY young person receiving inpatient mental health care this Christmas. Can you help?
All you need to do is make a homemade card (or two…!), write a lovely message inside for the young person, and then post it to us via the address below to arrive by the end of November. We’d love cards from all around the country!
Are you part of a group who’d like to make some homemade cards? That would be wonderful, yes please! Feel free to put your group name in the envelope when you post us your cards and we can give you a shout out!
Making Your Cards
You can be as creative as you like with your cards - please avoid anything overtly religious and make sure you don’t use anything sharp like staples. Here are some great ideas:
Fingerprint Reindeer or Christmas Light Card
Watercolour Snowflake Card
Folded Christmas Tree Card
Googley Eye Present or Christmas Tree Card
Watercolour and White Crayon Doodle Card
Once you have made your card you can write inside. You can start the message that you write in your card with ‘Dear Friend.’ When you write the message in your card, please avoid mentioning illness - please don’t say ‘get well soon’ or ‘sorry you’re ill’ - and please don’t say anything overtly religious as the cards need to be appropriate for young people of all faiths and religions. You can then sign with your first name (no surnames please). Please DON’T include any contact details in your card - we won’t be able to use any cards with mobile numbers or email addresses written in them.
If you need any ideas for messages, these are some nice ones from last year:
’Thinking of you and I hope you have some good things over this Christmas time’
‘Happy Christmas! Sending you love in the holidays’
‘Merry Christmas - I hope there are some nice activities for you to do’.
Please don’t mention numbers of gifts (some young people won’t get many), food (or weight) or the year.
You don’t need to include envelopes with your cards but you can if you’d like. Please don’t seal the envelopes if you do include them as we need to check every card.
Where should I send my cards?
Please message us to receive the address of where to send your cards to.
Ideally these should arrive by the end of November ready for our packing weekend.
